About me

My name is Tanis Crooks, and I am a 25 year old photographer from Ontario, Canada.

I am the third member of a very crazy family of five, I share dual citizenship with Ireland and Canada, I have one cute but rude cat, a beat up old car that has seen me through almost every state in America and a wild obsession with Harry Potter.

I have spent my entire life seeking adventure; new places to explore.. new dogs to pet etc.
I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life when I rolled into my final year of high school. Everyone started choosing colleges and professions and I just felt lost. My father is a forensic photographer, and he brought his camera home one day to catch up on some work. I started playing around with it and I swear it was love at first sight. I immediately felt connected, and it didn't take long before my artistic side really came out and allowed me to express the way I see the world.

I (an extremely unmotivated 18 year old) decided to start my own company.

Fast forward a few years and here we are! I have spent the last 16 years of my life in school and in return, have obtained my Photography Degree from Georgian College, my Psychology Diploma from Berkeley University and am in the process of finishing my Business Masters at a Private University in California.

More recently, I dabbled in some acting (random but cool) and in turn it led me to find my biggest passion; Unit Stills Photography.

Although I have spent the last few years traveling around different countries and trying new things, all roads have led me back to my one true passion.. the one that has been a huge part of my life since I was around 15 years old; Photography.
